After the first COVID-19 wave, contact tracing was essential to keep the infection process under control. F15m15m15mor Hospitality Digital, it quickly became clear that restaurant owners and their guests would need a digital solution here.

Launched in August 2020, DISH Guest was one of the first COVID-19 contact tracing apps on the market. The app enables encrypted, anonymous and GDPR-compliant contact data storage as well as fast and complete transmission to the health authorities. With DISH Guest, business owners can generate a QR code for their venue or even individual QR codes per table, allowing guests to check-in via smartphone. In addition, guests can view a digital menu and leave a review before leaving the premises.
Our Product Manager took over the project in October 2020, when DISH Guest had around 3,000 business customers. Within three weeks, that number increased to 5,500 customers in 9 countries. During the second lockdown, we launched DISH Guest in 6 more countries to be prepared for contact tracking after the lockdown. The project ran until Q4 2021, and we were able to deliver an advanced, multi-functional product used by over 9,000 locations in 15 countries, with approximately one million check-ins each month.
